By now, you should be aware that there are different types of stains which can affect the quality of your beloved stainless steel cookware. These stains may either be very easy to clean using a microfiber cloth, or may be very stubborn even with the use of a stainless steel cleaner.
Having said that, these two of the most common stains that your stainless steel cookware may accumulate in the kitchen and how to take care of them:
Rust
As mentioned above, stainless steel is corrosion resistant–but that doesn’t mean it cannot acquire rust. Here are the following reasons why stainless steel catches rust:
- Your stainless steel pots and pans are Nickel-free. You should find 304/316 stainless steel composition to avoid rusting.
- Your stainless steel pots and pans is on the cheaper side–it has less Chromium, the material which makes stainless steel rust-resistant. Make sure to check the composition of your stainless cookware to see it’s quality.
- You are using the stainless steel pots and pans to its limit. Even if stainless steel is non-reactive (to acids) and is resistant to high heat, it doesn’t mean that you will abuse it. Overexposure to acids, high heat, and salt may cause your stainless steel to rust (and lost its beauty).

Been using this product for more than a year now and worked great always for me. Most of my dishes are stainless steel and often some of them gets dirty because of grease and oils. I finally got into a situation where one of my dishes are too greasy and messy. This cleaner and polisher saved me time and money and it brought back life to my dishes again. As you can see in the pictures I attached, there is lot of grease and dirt in my pan and applied about 2-3 squeezes of the bottle. After the squeezes, scrub the cleaner around the pan and wait for few minutes. The manufacturer label says 30secs, But I would recommend giving 2-5mins for tougher stains like these. In the first round of cleaning, the grease did not go from the pans all the way. More than 70% of the grease was gone. I had to apply another round of cleaner, as the grease was tougher. After second round of cleaning, the grease was totally removed, and the pan got cleaner like new condition. Overall, very satisfied with this product and worked great for my dishes. As I mentioned, for tougher stains give it few more mins and try scrubbing and it should work.
