What to look for in unscented body soap

The best fragrance free body wash should be made from natural ingredients. Isn’t unscented body washes already made from natural ingredients?

While fragrances can give you a soothing and relaxing feel that carries you to a world of bliss with a sweet-smelling experience, hate to burst your bubble but if you have sensitive skin, fragrances are a big no for you.

Know what’s on the label

Unfortunately, our nose may not have the ability to know whether the smell of a certain product comes from a natural source or an added “parfum” that may cause irritation.

For instance, some of the best-unscented body wash contains ingredients that have a pleasant smell that is innate to them like aloe vera, shea butter, vanilla, and coconut.

However, some have no smell at all because the fragrance was put to mask the odor of the real skincare ingredients that have undesirable scents. Surprisingly these fragrances are added so that the product won’t have any detectable scents.

How would you know if the product may cause irritation? It’s all in the label. The rule of thumb is you need to read what ingredients are on the label and if you cannot even pronounce what’s on the label then don’t even consider it.
