Cleaning non-stick cookware and bake ware that's oily and recently used

Cleaning non-stick cookware and bakeware can be difficult as these kitchen wares can easily get scratched and damaged.

In my research, I have found that no matter what type or brand of non-stick cookware you want to clean you should always clean it the same way to avoid scratching. The methods that our grandmas and their grandmas used still work today.

With that being said,  you should try to avoid using the dishwasher for non-stick cookware as much as possible. Even if the manufacturer says your cookware is dishwasher-safe, the non-stick properties of the cookware will deteriorate faster when exposed to hot water and harsh detergent on a regular basis.

Here are the proper steps to hand wash your non-stick cookware.

Cleaning Non-Stick Cookware Immediately

Once you’re done with your cookware, wash them immediately to avoid food residue from caking or sticking.

Don’t Use Metal Scourers

Instead of abrasive scourers, use a safe, non-scratch scourer pad to clean stubborn food residue. These nylon mesh cloths are tougher and can clean just as better as metal scourers.

Use Salt, Vinegar or Baking Soda

If the damage is not too bad then you can use soap and water to clean your cookware. Otherwise, you can use the grandma-approved cleansers for cleaning non-stick cookware. These are salt, vinegar, and baking soda.

Here’s how you can use them without harming your non-stick cookware.
